
As a newcomer to the world of Marketing, I
sometimes have butterflies in my stomach. What is Marketing? Why
Market? Can I successfully market anything?
As a young adult I had no clue
about marketing and always thought it was limited to how companies sell to
their clients. Little did I know that it was so much more complex than
just 'HOW'! According to Philip Kotler
and Gary Armstrong, Marketing (Kotler & Armstrong, 2012) , the goal of
marketing is to attract new customers and retain current ones by ensuring their
satisfaction. But how does a company,
business or person do that?? In my blog,
we shall examine some of the components of Marketing, particularly in the area
of Digital Marketing and Communication, for the sake of understanding what it
is all about!
Bear in mind folks, that the journey we
are about to embark upon, is one that is new to me and thus, I hope that you
will bear with me. If you are like me,
and know very little about this topic, or you are overwhelmed and somewhat afraid
of it, hop on this bus, hold on tight, we are in for quite a ride!!
